For a parent one of the most difficult things to watch is your child in pain. Toothaches are usually caused by tooth decay. Here are a few ways to help your child if he or she has a toothache.
Evaluate the Situation
Does your child have a fever? Sensitive to hot or cold? Facial swelling? If so apply a cold compress to the area. For temporary pain relief, acetaminophen is recommended. Begin by cleaning around the sore tooth meticulously. Using warm salt water, rinse the mouth to displace any food trapped between teeth.
